The mission of the Planning Department is to: Guide land use and development consistent with the General Plan, Building Codes and related regulations, by providing accurate, timely and courteous professional and technical services to our customers, to maintain the County's unique quality of life, protect public safety and the environment and to promote economic vitality for current and future generations.

On September 25, 2018, the County Board of Supervisors adopted the following Resolutions amending the County's General Plan:  Resolution No. 199-2018 (Land Use Element - Policies and [delete]) and Resolution No. 201-2018 (Transportation and Circulation Element - Policy TC-Xc)

Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report_Re-Circulation

On Thursday, September 27, 2018, the County released a Notice of Availability of an Addendum to the Final Program Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the TGPA-ZOU adopted by the Board of Supervisors on December 15, 2015.  This Addendum is available for public and agency review for a 14-day period ending at 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2018.  For more information, click here.

On April 24, 2018 the County Board of Supervisors adopted the following reformatted Design Guides: (1) Community Design Guide; (2) Historic Design Guide; (3) Sierra Design Guide; (4) Missouri Flat Design Guidelines; and (5) Mixed Use Design Manual.
