Bayley's idea for success of the beautiful 22-room hotel out in the middle of nowhere was that he believed the Central Pacific Railroad would pass close by his hotel . thus making it a logical stop on the route. This was never realized as the railroad changed its route and bypassed the area completely.

Today, the Georgetown Divide Recreation District owns the building and surrounding 10 acres of land. For this 138-year old mansion, finding funds to save the structure won't be easy. An estimated $3,000,000 is needed to bring this building back to life.

Check out the progress of the restoration project!
