51st Annual Wagon Train will be traveling for 14 days from Nevada to Folsom with layovers at eight El Dorado County '49er trail camps ... visit the Highway 50 Association website to get the details for the next Wagon Train
Relive the days of '49 in Old Hangtown as the Highway 50 Association's Wagon Train once again reenacts this most historical event, Saturday, June 10th. Join the Hangtown Posse for a fun-filled afternoon in Old Hangtown (Placerville) at the 51st Annual Wagon Train Celebration Wagons Rollin' to Statehood ... the Grand Marshall is Black Bart.
The Wagon Train Parade begins at 6:00 p.m. and makes its way down Main Street through historic downtown Placerville, passing in front of the judges' stand at the Bell Tower.
This is the route the wagon train will be following ... Watch for this historic re-enactment of the '49ers journey for their quest for gold, wide open land and dreams of excitement and riches.
Thursday, June 1, 2000: Roundup at the Dayton, Nevada Rodeo Grounds with Bar-B-Que and entertainment.
Friday, June 2, 2000: Wagon Train departs Dayton. Lunch stop at Golf Course. Overnight stop at Fuji Park, Carson City.
Saturday, June 3, 2000: Wagon Train Departs Carson City. Lunch stop at top of Spooner Summit. Overnight stop at Zephyr Cove.
Sunday, June 4, 2000: Layover Day - Zephyr Cove. Monday, June 5, 2000: Wagon Train Departs Zephyr Cove. Lunch at South Shore. Overnight stop at Amacker Ranch - Meyers. Entertainment.
Tuesday, June 6, 2000: Wagon Train departs Meyers - Lunch at Little Norway. Overnight stop at Strawberry.
Wednesday, June 7, 2000: Layover Day at Strawberry. Gunfighters, mountain man demonstrations. Survivors' picture 3:30 pm. Bar-B-Que and dance at Strawberry Lodge.
Thursday, June 8, 2000: Wagon Train departs Strawberry. Lunch stop at Kyburz. Overnight stop at Riverton. Friday, June 9, 2000: Wagon Train departs Riverton - Lunch stop at Pacific House. Overnight stop at Pollock Pines. Crafters, entertainment, Bar-B-Que and dance. Wagon Train Queen chosen.
Saturday, June 10, 2000: Wagon Train departs Pollock Pines. Lunch stop at Abel's Acres. Annual Hangtown Wagon Train Parade at 6 PM. Overnight stop on Historic Main Street, Placerville. Evening of food and entertainment on Main Street hosted by the Hangtown Posse. Visit their website for pre-parade activities and fun.
Sunday, June 11, 2000: Early departure - Wagon Train leaves Placerville 7:00 A.M. Lunch at Sam's Town. Overnight stop in El Dorado Hills. Family Frontier Days. Food, crafters, entertainment.
Monday, June 12, 2000 Wagon Train departs El Dorado Hills via White Rock and Old Placerville Road. Lunch stop at Handley's In Folsom. Final stop at Negro Bar. Tuesday, June 13, 2000: Layover day at Negro Bar. Pot Luck Bar-B-Que.
Wednesday, June 14, 2000: 2000 Wagon Train officially over. Farewell breakfast and Wagon Train disbands.
