Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary for Public Health clinical services. To make an appointment, call (530) 621-6100 in Placerville or (530) 573-3155 in South Lake Tahoe.
What are the hours? The clinics are open Monday β Friday from 8 a.m. β 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. β 5:00 p.m.
Closed during the lunch hour, and on weekends and major holidays.
Who can use Public Health services? Anyone can use services offered by Public Health.
How much do services cost? Costs vary from service to service. You may receive free or reduced-cost services if you meet certain criteria (such as income, age, or health insurance status). For more information, call (530) 621-6100 in Placerville or (530) 573-3155 in South Lake Tahoe.
Do you accept private health care insurance?
We do not currently accept private insurance, although some services are offered on a sliding scale.
Do you offer services in Spanish? Yes, we offer verbal interpretation at the Placerville and South Lake Tahoe clinics.
Are your services confidential?
Yes. All services are confidential.
Does Public Health offer primary health care services? We currently do not provide primary health care services. If you have primary care needs (such as a sore throat, an earache, or health exam), please consult your physician, the telephone book, or other health care facilities.
I need family planning services. Where can I go for that?
There are several health care providers in El Dorado County and the surrounding area who offer family planning services, such as pap exams and birth control. You will have to make an appointment at most of these offices. A few local family planning providers are:
