The El Dorado County Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) recently announced additional service locations to reach more residents. HEAP is a federally funded program that helps income-eligible households offset the cost of heating and cooling their homes. Eligible homeowners or renters may qualify to have specific payment amounts credited to their electric utility accounts or may receive assistance to obtain firewood, propane, pellets or heating oil. Priority is given to seniors over age 60, disabled persons and families with children under age 5. El Dorado and Alpine County residents are encouraged to apply for this program.

HEAP services will be offered at the following locations:

  • Main Office: HHSA - Community Services, 937 Spring Street, Placerville.
    Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Somerset:  Pioneer Park Community Center, 6740 Fair Play Road.
    1st Wednesday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • El Dorado Hills: White Rock Village Community Room, 2200 Valley View Parkway.
    3rd Monday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Pollock Pines: Pollock Pines Community Church, 6361 Pony Express Trail.
    2nd Thursday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Georgetown: Georgetown Community Center, 6329 Lower Main Street, Georgetown.
    3rd Wednesday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Cool: Cool Community Church, 863 Cave Valley Road.
    April 2, July 2, December 3, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Cameron Park: Knolls at Green Valley, 3301 Cimmarron Road.
    Last Tuesday of the month from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Placerville: Green Valley Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Road.
