Vote by Mail ballots will enter the mail stream on their way to El Dorado County voters on Monday, May 5th.
Since 2002, any voter can submit a single request to automatically receive their ballot by mail every election. Voters may also request to vote by mail for a single election. The deadline to request a vote by mail ballot for the June 3 Statewide Direct Primary Election is May 27. A vote by mail ballot application is provided with each Sample Ballot mailed to voters.
All voted ballots need to be in the possession of Election Officials by the time the polls close at 8 p.m. on Election Day to count. The Elections Department encourages voters to mail their ballots back early, no later than May 28.
Voters may deposit their ballots 24 hours a day in the ballot drop box located in the Bldg. C parking lot at 2850 Fairlane Court, Placerville. Vote by mail ballots may also be turned into any polling place in El Dorado County on Election Day up until the polls close.
Voters can check the return status of their Vote by Mail ballot on the Elections Department website at www.edcgov.us/elections. Vote by Mail ballots are the first ballots counted and comprise the first results released on Election Night.
