If you have an animal housed at one of the Animal Services disaster animal shelters and your home is in an evacuation warning area or no longer in an evacuation area, please pick up your animals as soon as possible. If your property is damaged and you cannot bring your animals home, please contact the animal hotline for the Western Slope-Diamond Springs shelter at (530) 621-5795 or for South Lake Tahoe (530) 573-7925 for further assistance.
Below are the locations to retrieve any animals evacuated due to the Caldor Fire:
El Dorado County Animal Services (West Slope and South Lake Tahoe) is still conducting daily field operations. Our West Slope shelter located in Diamond Springs continues to be in a disaster response mode. Our South Lake Tahoe shelter will open Sept. 14th. We will continue to provide support to our community with animal needs on both slopes.
