Temporary Suspension of Alternative Sentencing and Self-Surrender Court Commitments

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has been taking proactive steps to mitigate the potential introduction or spread of COVID-19 in the community which includes the population within our jails. This has been done in close consultation with local, state and federal officials.
On March 17, 2020 the El Dorado Superior Court released an Administrative Order which temporarily suspended commitment sentences for Work Program, Intermittent (Weekender) Sentences and Court Commitments ordering self-surrender of defendants to the County Jail.  The suspension of these sentences have been ordered effective March 17, 2020 through August 9, 2020.

Update:  The suspension of these sentences have been extended through October 18th, 2020 by orders of the El Dorado Superior Court dated September 18th, 2020.

These sentences have been ordered to recommence on or after October 19th, 2020.  All those who have a court ordered jail surrender date or have been court ordered to an alternative sentencing program such as Work Program or Intermittent (Weekender) Sentence are encouraged to contact the El Dorado County Jail at (530) 621-6007 - Placerville Jail or (530) 573-3031 – Tahoe Jail for further information.
