Interim Objective Design Standards
The County's existing community design guidelines have not been substantially updated since they were first adopted in 1982. Due to their age, these documents lack objective (measurable) design standards consistent with the design preferences of each community. The existing design guidelines are also inconsistent with objective design requirements of new state legislation.
Based on feedback from the public and decision-makers, the Interim Objective Design Standards will provide temporary objective design standards for new commercial and multifamily development on the County's West Slope while the County is processing detailed objective design standards for each of the County's Community Regions and Rural Centers.
