The El Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program announced today that the Senior Nutrition Program at the Cameron Park meal site will be discontinued until further notice due to the Food Bank of El Dorado no longer providing its volunteer service. The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will be hearing an agenda item on December 6, 2016, at approximately 10 am, to discuss the future operations for the Cameron Park meal site.

In the meantime, seniors receiving meals at the Cameron Park site can attend meals at one of the seven other congregate meal sites offered throughout El Dorado County; some are only a short distance from Cameron Park. The Senior Nutrition Program serves hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. for the suggested donation of $3.00 per meal for adults age 60 and older at the following locations:

  • Placerville Senior Center, 937 Spring Street, Placerville
  • El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane, El Dorado Hills
  • Diamond Springs Lions Hall, 4701 Missouri Flat Road, Diamond Springs
  • Pollock Pines Community Center, 2675 Sanders Drive, Pollock Pines
  • Greenwood Community Center, 4411 Highway 193, Greenwood
  • Pioneer Park Community Center, 6740 Fairplay Road, Fairplay
  • South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe

In addition to its congregate meal sites, the Senior Nutrition Program also delivers nutritious lunchtime meals to homebound seniors Monday through Friday. Individuals who are medically or physically disabled, 60 years of age or older, may be eligible for the program. The suggested donation is $3.00 per meal. Eligibility is determined by staff assessment; some restrictions may apply.
