Home Delivered Meal Program Volunteers Sought;
Orientation Session Scheduled In January
(Placerville, CA) - Thinking about a New Year's resolution? The El Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program is currently looking for dedicated, caring volunteers for the Home Delivered Meal program. Each volunteer generally works one day each week on an assigned route, delivering meals between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. An orientation session for potential new volunteer drivers is scheduled in January 2019.
"If you have a heart for older adults and helping others, we could use your help," said Ruth Green, Program Coordinator for the Senior Nutrition Program. "Volunteer drivers often provide the only daily contact some of our recipients receive. A warm, nutritious meal delivered with a smile can brighten any day." If you are unable to make a weekly commitment, back up drivers are also needed to fill in on an on-call basis.
Potential volunteers are invited to attend one of the following Orientations:
- January 8, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Placerville Senior Center, 937 Spring Street in Placerville, or
- January 29, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Placerville Senior Center, 937 Spring Street in Placerville
