(Placerville, CA) - Want to apply for a job with the U.S.D.A. Forest Service? The Eldorado National Forest is filling multiple temporary positions for the 2019 fire and field season. El Dorado County Connections - One Stop is partnering with the Eldorado National Forest to host a free employer presentation on October 1, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the County Child Support Services building (Carlton meeting room), 3883 Ponderosa Road in Shingle Springs.
During the employer presentation, Eldorado National Forest representatives will conduct a workshop to help participants prepare their resumes for a government job, discuss job opportunities with the Forest Service, and more. In addition to the employer presentation on October 1, the Eldorado National Forest will also host two "Apply with Us" events on October 3 and October 6, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Eldorado National Forest office, located at 100 Forni Road in Placerville. During the "Apply with Us" events, job seekers can meet with Eldorado Forest Service representatives and receive help on-site applying for jobs with the organization. Walk-ins are welcome. Job seekers are encouraged to attend both the employer presentation and one of the "Apply with Us" events.
Temporary positions available with the Forest Service include: Customer Service Representative, Visitor Information Assistant, Laborer (Tree Seedling Nursery), Laborer (Road Construction & Maintenance), Engineering Equipment Operator, Archeologist, Archelogy Tech, Forestry Aid (Recreation), Forestry Tech (Recreation/OHV), Forestry Tech (Wilderness/Trails), Range Technician, Biological Science Tech (Plants), Biological Science Tech (Fisheries), Biological Science Tech (Wildlife), Forestry Aid (Timber), Forestry Tech (Timber Stand Improvement), Forestry Tech (Fire Lookout), and more. Firefighter positions include: Material Handler (Dozer Swamper), Forestry Aid/Tech (Fire Engines, Handcrews, Helitack). These jobs are posted at www.usajobs.gov.
