FREE AGING AND CAREGIVER MINI SERIES
COMING TO GREENWOOD
(Placerville, CA) – The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) is hosting a free "Aging & Caregiver" Mini Series in Greenwood. The three-part education series will be held Tuesdays, July 23, July 30 and August 6, 2019, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Community Center, 4401 Highway 193, in Greenwood. The series provides instruction and support for people who care for or plan to care for a family member or friend 60 years of age or older. Series topics include:
- July 23, 2019 – Senior Services New/Free resources. Learn about free services and resources for seniors such as: Senior Farmers' Market $20 Check Booklets, CalFresh Expansion and application assistance and more.
- July 30, 2019 – Emergency Preparedness for Family Caregivers. Learn how to prepare for emergencies and how to include those with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, disabilities or other health needs in emergency plans.
- August 6, 2019 – Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body. Learn about research on diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to incorporate this information into a plan for healthy aging.
The Mini Series classes will be presented by local subject matter experts. Participants may attend one or all of the classes. The classes are free; voluntary contributions are accepted. Light refreshments will be served. The series is offered for education purposes only; no solicitation of services will be presented. Respite care may be available for qualified caregivers.
The El Dorado County FCSP is offering the education series in partnership with El Dorado County Emergency Preparedness, the El Dorado County Older Adult Information and Assistance Program, and Alzheimer's Association of Greater Sacramento.
