(Placerville, CA) – In California, affordable health insurance is available through Covered California. The open enrollment period for Covered California health insurance plans begins November 1, 2017 and ends January 31, 2018. This is an important time period for individuals to sign up for health insurance if they don't have coverage, and to review and confirm current health care plans or make any necessary changes so that coverage remains seamless.
"Some health coverage plans through Covered California will no longer be available in 2018," said Nancy Williams, Health Officer with the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). "If you already have health insurance through Covered California, check to see if your coverage will be automatically renewed for 2018. Anthem Blue Cross will no longer be participating in Covered California; if you are a member of Anthem Blue Cross, you will need to reapply for a different plan."
