​CalRecycle Rubberized Pavement Grant Program


In 2017, Department of Transportation, Maintenance and Operations was awarded and funded a Rubberized Pavement Grant for Rubberized Chip Seal through the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). 


In May 2018, Maintenance and Operations performed its first round of Rubberized Chip Seal as a result of this grant in the following areas of the County: Country Club Drive, Pleasant Valley Road (from Oriental Street to Mother Lode Drive), Cameron Woods Subdivision, Highland Subdivision, and El Dorado Hills Business Park. In addition, Maintenance and Operations performed a Rubberized Chip Seal on Marshall Road in September 2018. Total, the projects diverted 20,797 waste tires from the waste stream.
