Gilli Mealybug

The Gilli mealybug has been found in a vineyard near Placerville. Like the vine mealybug, it is important to minimize the number of people entering and exiting an infested vineyard. People can accidentally carry the mealybug on their clothing or equipment. The Gilli mealybug has a rather broad host range compared to vine mealybug however. This means that it can survive on more plant species and/or cause problems in other crops or areas.
