Aedes Mosquito

May 2017: Zika virus is an infectious disease that is transmitted to people by Aedes mosquitoes. These mosquitoes are not native to California. However, since 2011 they have been detected in several California Counties. To date, there have been no confirmed reports of Zika virus in El Dorado County. Local Public Health officials continue to monitor the situation.
