Are you prepared for the next disaster? From extreme
weather to wildland fire, El Dorado County faces numerous potential risks. On Tuesday,
September 23, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Northside Elementary School,
El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency – Animal Services and Public
Health Preparedness and Response staff along with the El Dorado County Fire
Safe Council will conduct a presentation to help community members prepare
themselves, their families and pets to respond when disasters happen. Northside Elementary School is located at 860
Cave Valley Road in Cool.
“When citizens prepare themselves ahead
of time, they build stronger, more resilient communities and can better deal
with an emergency when it occurs,” said Kristine Oase Guth, Public Health
Preparedness and Response Program Manager. “Residents are invited to come learn about the types of disasters that occur
in El Dorado County, what to pack in emergency kits, how to develop a
family communications plan and how to become involved in community readiness.”
The presentation is open to the
general community and offered free of charge.
