UPDATE - September 26, 2012
Due to a directive from the Federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC), El Dorado County Public Health can no longer offer Federally-provided vaccine to people who have private health insurance that covers vaccines. Therefore, our walk-in vaccination clinics described below are only for Medi-Cal eligible, uninsured and underinsured individuals.

The Public Health Division of the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency will begin offering free community vaccination clinics for children in several designated locations of the County beginning July 12. “This is a wonderful service that we hope parents will utilize for their children, particularly if they don’t have a regular health care provider,” said Cathy Dunbar, County Immunization Coordinator. Children of all ages (infants through18 years of age) will be accepted at the clinics. The community vaccination clinics will be held on a monthly basis at each location. Clinics will not be open on holidays.

All childhood immunizations required for school entry will be offered through Public Health at the community clinics, including Tdap and DTaP (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis); Hib (Haemophilus Influenza Type B); Varicella (Chicken pox); Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); and the Hepatitis B and Polio vaccines. Some adult vaccines will also be available at the clinics. Influenza vaccine will be available during flu season.

No appointment is required at the community vaccination clinics. Parents mustbring the child’s shot record. While the vaccinations are offered at no cost, donations will be accepted to help cover administration expenses.

The community vaccination clinic locations and dates are:
  • Pollock Pines Community Church located at 6361 Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • White Rock Village Apartments (in the community room) located at 2200 Valley View Parkway in El Dorado Hills on the 3rd Monday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
