The Chief Probation Officer, Deputy Chief Probation Officer(s), Chief Fiscal Officer and Superintendent of Institutions administer countywide operations and services, which include juvenile and adult court and supervision services, juvenile detention and treatment services, victim services, collections, support services and special programs.
The Probation Department has 132 permanent positions assigned to the Shingle Springs Office, the South Lake Tahoe Office, the Placerville Juvenile Hall and the South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Treatment Center.
The Probation Department partners in special projects with many government, education, law enforcement, and community agencies within El Dorado County and throughout the State of California.
Support Services Division
The Support Service Division of the Department provides fiscal, administrative, clerical and information technology (IT) for all Probation divisions. The Fiscal, Administrative and IT units are centralized in the Shingle Springs Office. Clerical Support staff are located at each Probation Office and Juvenile Detention Facility.
