- Custodial parents or legal guardians only are authorized to visit minors in the Juvenile Detention Facility. Every visitor must present proof of identity, preferably a driver’s license, every time he/she intends to visit a minor.
- Every visitor shall sign the Visitor’s Sign-In Sheet every time he/she visits a minor. If a visitor refuses to sign the Visitor Sign-In Sheet, he/she is not allowed to enter the Juvenile Detention Facility.
- Visitors may not give any of the following items to the minors that are detained in the Juvenile Detention Facility:
* Tobacco products in any form |
* Food, chewing gum or candy |
* Matches, strikers or lighters |
* Cosmetics or toiletry products |
* Drugs, alcohol or medicine |
* Pens and pencils |
* Money or stamps |
* Letters and pictures |
* Weapons of any kind |
(Letters must be sent through US mail) |
- A Visitor may bring paperback books (no more than 2) and an unopened deck of playing cards for a minor. Juvenile Detention Facilities will not be responsible for the loss or damage to books or cards.
- Anything brought in or taken out must be with the knowledge and consent of a staff member. Staff will check all items brought in or taken out of the Juvenile Detention Facility.
- All visits are subject to monitoring by Juvenile Detention Facility staff and are to occur at a place designated by the staff member. The visit may be terminated at the discretion of any staff member on duty.
- All personal property shall not be brought in to the Juvenile Detention Facility’s except vehicle keys and identification. It is recommended that all personal property is locked in vehicles, i.e.: purses, pocket knives, cigarettes lighters, etc.
