On Friday, May 14, from 8:00am to 4:00pm at Green Valley Community Church, people from the greater El Dorado County area will gather together to learn about Alzheimer’s disease – its warning signs, who’s at risk, what treatments are available and how to cope with the unique behaviors associated with the disease. With a grant from Marshall Community Health Foundation, organizations from throughout the community have been working together for nearly a year to offer “Alzheimer’s…Navigating the Journey,” a conference for families and professionals caring for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

For just $10 (or $20 at the door), you will have the privilege of learning from some of the most well-known leaders of dementia care and research, enjoy a continental breakfast, lunch and snacks, benefit from over 40 exhibitors of supplies and services and be given all handouts and relevant materials. For free caregiver respite, please contact the Family Caregiver Support Program at 530-621-6151. In addition, Continuing Education Units are available for most professions for only $10. Registration information is available by calling El Dorado County Senior Day Care Services at 530-621-6180 or Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center at 916-971-0893.
