Senior Legal Seminars Coming to Placerville Senior Center

El Dorado County Senior Legal Services, a program of the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, is hosting a series of legal seminars for seniors during the month of April.  The seminar series, entitled "Planning for the Future," is designed to provide information about the importance of financial and health planning.  Individuals may attend the whole series or just one class.  Reservations are not required. Each seminar session is free of charge, although donations are accepted. The seminar sessions will be held as follows:

  • "Estate Planning for Almost Everyone" - Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Placerville Senior Center, 937 Spring Street, Placerville, in the dining hall. An overview of wills, trusts and probate. Learn how to plan for a transfer of your estate to your loved ones.
  • "You Have the Power: Powers of Attorney and Advanced Health Care Directives" - Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Placerville Senior Center, 937 Spring Street, Placerville, in the dining hall. This training will help you learn how to properly prepare Advanced Health Care Directives and Powers of Attorney documents.

  • "Long Term Planning for Long Term Care" - Thursday, April 23, 2015, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Placerville Senior Center, 937 Spring Street, Placerville, in the dining hall. This training will help take the fear out of long term care and provide an opportunity to look at types of care, including both private and public options, Medi-Cal eligibility, etc.
