YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM

Please Note: Due to COVID-19, some services of the Employment Resource Centers may be limited or temporarily unavailable.  Appointments are needed to visit our centers. Please call for questions or to schedule an appointment.

El Dorado County’s Youth Services Program, under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), serves El Dorado County and can help youth prepare for additional education, vocational training, and/or employment. To qualify for the program, you must:

  • Meet the income eligibility requirementimage of individuals in a seminar
  • Be age 17 to 24
  • Have an obstacle to employment such as:
    • Pregnant or parenting
    • A high school dropout
    • Involved with court systems
    • Homeless or runaway
    • Current and former foster youth
    • Have low math or reading skills
    • Lack significant work experience 

To enroll in this program:

  • Complete the services request form and a representative from one of our employment services programs will contact you, or
  • Visit the Employment Resource Center closest you:

Once you are enrolled into the WIOA Youth Services Program, you may receive help such as:

  • Vocational/technical training
  • Work experience
  • On-the-Job training
  • Information and support accessing college, Regional Occupational Programs (ROP), Vocational Schools, Job Corps, and California Conservation Corps
  • Earn cash incentives
  • Assistance paying for books, uniforms, school supplies, and work-related tools
  • Job search assistance
  • Career assessment and exploration
  • Work readiness training
  • Resume building
  • Interview skills training
  • “How-To” workshops
