WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT PROGRAM

The federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) helps people get and keep jobs, and improve their job skills. It also helps businesses find workers. Services can benefit job seekers, laid off workers, youth, new entrants into the workforce, veterans, disabled people and employers. Many services are offered at our Employment Resource Center office in Placerville and the local college in South Lake Tahoe.

  • The Adult and Dislocated Worker Program provides training and technical assistance to help people get and keep a job. No appointment is needed; please be sure to bring a valid picture ID and Social Security card.
  • The Youth Services Program serves people ages of 17 - 24. The program offers services to prepare youth for additional education, vocational training and employment. No appointment is needed; please be sure to bring a valid picture ID and Social Security card.
  • The Rapid Response Program offers closure/layoff aversion services to businesses and assists employees to quickly return to the workforce.
