CalWORKs WELFARE-TO-WORK

Welfare-to-Work is the employment and training component of the CalWORKs program. It helps people on cash assistance get jobs and become self-sufficient. Through ongoing case management, people are assisted to reduce barriers to employment. The Welfare-to-Work program coordinates with other agencies, often ‘linking’ services for the benefit of families. Welfare to Work program services include:

  • Case management
  • Assessment of skills and education
  • Job readiness workshops
  • Assisted job search
  • Work experience placement
  • Educational activities
  • Supportive services
