ADULT & DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAM


This program assists residents of El Dorado County who need help returning to work and are unlikely to return to their previous industry or occupation. Displaced homemakers and self-employed individuals may also qualify.

Services Include:

  • Money for certain vocational school or technical training or related expenses
  • On-the-job training opportunities
  • Information and support accessing college and technical schools
  • Job search assistance and career assessment and career exploration
  • Work readiness training such as interview skills and resume preparation

Individuals must apply, be eligible and be chosen for this program. Eligibility requirements include by are not limited to:

  • Age 18 years or older
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Able to financially support self while in training
    • If receiving unemployment insurance benefits, individuals approved for this program may be able to attend school while collecting these benefits rather than look for work (the California Training Benefits Program Fact Sheet is available for more information)
  • Application and interview
