The potential for exposure to chemical and other hazardous substances varies within each department. Toxic substances are usually absorbed through inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact. Timely reporting and detailed information is necessary for health care professionals to evaluate and offer the appropriate response. Employees must notify their supervisor of need for medical treatment.
Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure: If an employee's eyes, mouth, mucous membrane, or broken skin is exposed to blood borne pathogens the employee should immediately report to Barton Hospital or Marshall Hospital for assessment and, if appropriate, prophylactic treatment. If an exposure occurs, fill out these forms.
The County's third party administrator, Sedgewick, will administer benefits on behalf of the County. You may contact them by calling (866) 221-2402 and requesting to speak with the claims examiner for the County of El Dorado. They will be able to further discuss your medical treatment and other benefits.
