Special Vacancy General Election for CA Senate District 1

The run-off election to fill the vacant CA Senate District 1 election has been called by the Governor for June 4th 2019.


A calendar has been prepared by the Secretary of State and can be found here.  An important early date for candidates advancing to the runoff is April 10th, the deadline to file candidate statements.

Candidates that advanced from the primary, wishing to file a candidate statement to be published in the El Dorado County Voter Guide may do so by submitting a Statement of Qualifications and the publication cost at the El Dorado County Registrar of Voters office in Placerville.

Important Dates for Voters are:

  • April 20th - Overseas and Military Voters ballots transmitted/mailed.
  • April 25th - Polling Place Voters' guides mailed starting this date.
  • May 6th - Vote By Mail Voters ballots mailed starting this date.
  • May 20th - Last day to register to vote for the election.
  • May 28th - Last day to request a vote by mail ballot be mailed (applications must be received by this day)
  • June 4th - ELECTION DAY.
