El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority

The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority (or "West Slope JPA") formed in 1996 as a transport contractor for paramedic ambulance service to the Western Slope service area of El Dorado County. The JPA's administrative offices are located in Diamond Springs across the street from Fire Station 49.

The JPA includes 9 member agencies:

El Dorado Hills Fire District

Rescue Fire District

The West Slope JPA operates eight full-time ambulances (click here for locations). The units are dispatched by the CAL FIRE Emergency Communications Center (ECC) at Camino.

The West Slope JPA has a multi-year contract with the County for ambulance services from July 2006 to June 2018, and has a $11.5 million operating budget for FY 2011-12. Paramedic ambulances on El Dorado County's western slope responded to over 14,000 medical calls during 2011. The service is funded thru County Service Area 7.
