El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson announced today that an El Dorado County Grand Jury indicted Wayne Allen Huntsman on charges of felony arson related to the King Fire.
On December 3, 2014, an El Dorado County Grand Jury indicted Huntsman with a violation of Penal Code§ 451(c), Arson of Forest Land, a felony, and with multiple Special Allegations of Arson with Aggravating Factors. Today, Huntsman was arraigned on the Indictment in El Dorado County Superior Court and his bail remains set at $10,000,000. The defense filed a motion to recuse the judge and the matter is now set for a Trial Setting Conference on January 23, 2015, at 1:30 PM in Department 2 of the El Dorado County Superior Court with Judge Melikian.
