District Attorney Vern Pierson announces the felony
conviction of Robert Anthony Roser for Child Abuse Likely to Produce Great
Bodily Harm or Death.
On September 29, 2016, an El Dorado County jury made up
of 5 men and 7 women convicted Robert Anthony
Roser of child abuse likely to produce great bodily injury or death,
and found true the allegation that he personally inflicted great bodily
injury. The jury deliberated for two hours after hearing
testimony from the victim, Dr. Ho Phan, Deputy Gray, and Deputy
Brown. The case was investigated by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s
Office, the California Highway Patrol and the El Dorado County District
Attorney’s Office. After the verdict, the Honorable James Wagoner
set sentencing for November 4, 2016. The defendant faces a maximum
of nine years in state prison.
