Attorney Vern Pierson announces the felony conviction of Martin Richard
Urjevich for Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Possession of
a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On June
9, 2016, an El Dorado County jury made up of three men and nine women convicted
Martin Richard Urjevich of Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon,
Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia. The jury deliberated for less than thirty
minutes after hearing testimony from Deputy Alonso Aguilar, Detective Kyle
Parker, Boyd Lasater of the Department of Justice, and Deputy District Attorney
Worth Dikeman. The case was investigated by the El Dorado County
Sheriff's Office.
The
Defendant's criminal history includes five felony convictions for Marijuana
Cultivation, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, Transportation of
Methamphetamine, Evading a Police Officer, and Possession of a Stun Gun by a
Felon. The Defendant has been to prison twice previously and violated his
parole at least six times (not including additional probation violations over
the years). The People argued for the Defendant to be sentenced to three
years in state prison. However, the
Court granted five years felony probation and one year in the county jail.![]()
