During a post-verdict hearing, the defendant admitted to prison priors and prior felony convictions. District Attorney Vern Pierson commented, “This case is representative of the aggressive prosecution by the District Attorney’s Office of individuals who commit domestic violence.”

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Michael McCoy who has been a prosecutor for 12 years including 6 years as a JAG in the U.S. Air Force and 6 years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

MacDonald is due to be sentenced by the Honorable Kenneth J. Melikian in Department 2 of the El Dorado County Superior Court on March 11, 2016.
