The Independence Day Weekend Anti DUI crackdown is reporting DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 6 DUI deployments in El Dorado County.
From 12:01 AM Friday July 3, 2015 through Midnight Sunday 5, 2015 officers representing 3 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 13 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Last year, the holiday was a four-day campaign period which does not match the three-day crackdown ending last night. Last year there was two alcohol related death during this same time. (**NOTE: These numbers are only provisional with some agencies yet to report**)
Law enforcement officials will be conducting its next major Avoid DUI campaign throughout the county and region during the 18 Day Summer Campaign in August ending Labor Day weekend.
