Placerville, Calif- Jury finds Todd Alan Winkler GUILTY of First Degree Murder in the 2012 death of his 3rd wife, Rachel Marie Winkler. The 7 man 5 women jury heard expert testimony, witnesses’ statements,and evidence presented over the 6 week trial. Some evidence presented in the trial raised suspicion regarding Winkler’s 2nd wife and her untimely death in September of 1999.

By all accounts Rachel was a loving mother, kind friend, and all around good person. Rachel leaves behind her 3 young children, her immediate family and a host of extended family and friends.

District Attorney Vern Pierson commented “Nothing can bring Rachel back, but it is my hope that her family, friends, and loved ones may find some peace knowing the person responsible for their loss and Rachel’s death is being held responsible for his actions”. DA Pierson also personally recognized all those who participated in the investigation and prosecution of this case, in particular, Deputy DA Lisette Suder for her diligence and hard work bringing this killer to justice.
