The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office would like to announce the conviction and sentencing of Mr. Patrick Senatore for 10 counts of sexual misconduct.  In October 2001, two El Dorado County children reported alleged sexual misconduct and forcible rape to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. In May 2002 while the investigation was ongoing Mr. Senatore fled the state and had been a fugitive since March of 2010 when the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office initiated a fugitive apprehension investigation. In December 2011 Mr. Senatore was located and arrested in the state of New York by the U.S. Marshal’s Office and extradited to California. The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office charged Mr. Senatore with 10 felony counts including lewd acts with the victim being under the age of 14, forcible rape, and lewd acts with the suspect being 10 or more years older than the victim.

On July 19, 2013 Mr. Senatore was convicted by a jury on all 10 felony counts of sexual misconduct. On August 9, 2013 in the El Dorado County Superior Court Department 2 the Honorable Daniel Proud sentenced Mr. Senatore on 9 of the counts to 15 years to life and for those sentences to be run consecutively. Mr. Senatore was sentenced in total to 138 years to life in accordance with the District Attorney’s office’s request, state law, and a plea by the victims for a maximum sentence.

During sentencing the victims expressed appreciation and gratitude to El Dorado County District Attorney Investigator Shawn Eastman, retired El Dorado County Sheriff’s Detective Rich Strasser, El Dorado County Deputy District Attorney Lisette Suder for successfully prosecuting the case, and the victim/witness program at the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office.

El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson commented that he and his office are committed to aggressively pursuing, apprehending, and prosecuting sexual assault offenders.
