El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office is proud to announce their continued support for the “Texting & Driving… It can wait” campaign. The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office & Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with AT&T, has partnered to get community awareness and participation to deter texting while driving. On September 19, 2013, all California drivers, employers, friends, and family members are encouraged to take the pledge to not text and drive. District Attorney Vern Pierson commented, “Texting while driving is dangerous and deadly and has a profound impact on not only the victims, but their families, and the community as a whole“. The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office is committed to community awareness, educational programs, and aggressive prosecution of violators as a means to stop these preventable tragedies.Sheriff John D’Agostini took the pledge Not to Text and Drive stating “All of us in Law Enforcement have seen the terrible impact texting and driving has had on so many. The physical and mental injuries instilled on those involved are senseless and avoidable. Let’s all do our part and stop texting while driving”.
