El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson and Sheriff John D'Agostini announced today the arrest of South Lake Tahoe marijuana dispensary owner Gennaro "Gino" DiMatteo on suspicion of violating penal code section 165 (bribery of a public official) and health and safety code section 11359 (possession for sale).
In conjunction with the arrest of DiMatteo, El Dorado County District Attorney Investigators, El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputies, and South Lake Tahoe Police Officers executed search warrants at DiMatteo's home, business, and banking institution.
The ongoing investigation is a joint operation conducted by the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office and the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department. Charges have not yet been filed and are currently under review by the District Attorney's Office.
