El Dorado County Emergency Alert Notification System - CODE RED
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, Office of Emergency Services' Alert Notification System - Code Red provides a number of ways in which the county may contact the community in the event of an emergency such as: evacuations due to wildfires or hazardous material spills, or urgent law enforcement operations. The system may be used to deliver alerts when there is a threat to the health or safety of residents.

Nixle
Nixle is a messaging system, like the Alert Notification System, used by government and public safety agencies. The Placerville Police Department uses Nixle to distribute emergency information, as well as other community information. You can register your cell phone number and/or email address to receive notifications for zip codes where you spend time, and if a public safety agency in that zip code uses Nixle, you will receive alerts.
