The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified candidates for one vacancy on the El Dorado County Assessment Appeals Board (AAB). The chosen Representative shall live within the County of El Dorado.

The AAB was created to constitute the County Board of Equalization that shall equalize the values of all property on the local assessment roll by adjusting individual assessments. AAB powers are to be exercised in the manner and subject to the limitations specified by California law. Persons eligible for membership must have a minimum of five years professional experience in the State as a CPA or public accountant, licensed real estate broker, attorney or accredited property appraiser; or the nominating Board member has reason to believe possesses competent knowledge of property appraisal and taxation rules or as otherwise provided by law.

The hearings are normally scheduled in the spring of each year requiring two full days of meetings. In the event of a large number of appeals another day may be scheduled.
