El Dorado County Superior Court Upholds Ballot Questions
Placerville, CA – On Friday April 1, 2016, the El Dorado County Superior Court (Court)
upheld ballot questions prepared by the County for Initiative Measures “E” and “G” that will
appear on the upcoming June 7, 2016 election ballot. The ruling was made in response to a
legal challenge filed on March 4, 2016 by a proponent of Initiative Measures “E” and “G”. The
challenge was in the form of a petition for a Writ of Mandate asking the Court “…to modify the
ballot language associated with Measures E and G…”. The Court made findings that the
ballot measure questions proposed by the County were not false, misleading, or likely to
cause prejudice for or against either proposed initiative measure. Therefore, the ballot
questions as drafted will be included for voter consideration as required under Elections Code
Section 9105.
The County is pleased with the Court’s ruling and believes that the ballot questions are a fair
representation of the proposed Initiative Measures “E” and “G”.
