Placerville, CA — The El Dorado Economic Development Division is partnering with regional economic
development organizations to implement the 2016 County Business Survey to enhance the economic climate for
both employees and employers in the County. The survey, which is a collaboration of county chambers of
commerce, downtown organizations, professional associations, and cities, will help to analyze the
competitiveness of El Dorado County for attracting and retaining businesses. The results of the survey will be
used by the County and regional economic development organizations in marketing the region to prospective
businesses and to help identify retention and growth factors. The survey will provide information on workforce
characteristics, planned business growth, and other criteria critical to attracting, retaining, and supporting
businesses in El Dorado County.
This is the first County based business survey, and it is offered in conjunction with the new El Dorado County
Strategic Planning Process. Information gathered by the survey will assist the County to align resources,
consistent with the Strategic Plan, over the next three years. Participation is critical to provide current
information for existing employers. A report on Survey results are expected to be presented to the El Dorado
County Board of Supervisors in April of 2016.
“This survey is about getting the pulse of business in El Dorado County, and being able to respond in a timely
fashion to current needs and issues within the business community,” said Jeff McLaughlin, Economic
Development Manager for El Dorado County.
The survey will be offered on-line only via the website www.Surveymonkey.com. A link to the survey will be
available on the County’s website starting on February 1st and ending on March 18th, 2016.
The County will collect and analyze the results. All individual information will be confidential with only aggregate
results presented. Questions regarding the survey, or those wishing to participate should contact the County
Economic Development Division at 530-621-5595 or economic.development@edcgov.us.
The Survey is a collaboration of El Dorado County Economic Development Division with the El Dorado County
Chamber of Commerce, El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce, Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, Shingle
Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce, Divide Chamber of Commerce, Coloma-Lotus Chamber of
Commerce, Placerville Downtown Association, Tahoe Prosperity Center, and the Cities of South Lake Tahoe
and Placerville.
