EL DORADO COUNTY – Emergency repairs continue on a section of State Highway 193 in El
Dorado County that was damaged by a series of recent storms.
The highway between Rock Creek Road and the junction with Highway 49 in Placerville remains
under 24/7 one-way traffic control with pilot vehicles as Teichert Construction continues the
repairs, which include replacing sections of damaged pavement, shoulder backing and building
asphalt dikes for erosion control.

expected to end by Monday, March 20, but
daytime work will continue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, an approximately 300-foot section of
the highway south of Chili Bar sustained extensive
damage to the slope and northbound lane. A
barrier wall will need to be constructed to stabilize
the slope, and that work will take several months.
Construction of the retaining wall is expected to
start in two to three weeks. In the meantime, the area remains under signalized one-way traffic
control with the northbound lane closed.
Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
