(PLACERVILLE, CA) – El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation will begin road work requiring
lane closures on Cosumnes Mine Road on Monday, July 23, 2018. Work is anticipated to continue through
October 2018. The full road closure is anticipated to be four weeks beginning in August 2018.
Access for local residents, emergency personnel and law enforcement will be available via detour on Sciaroni
Road during the work period. Detour notifications will be posted approximately one week in advance of the
full closure, and will continue through the duration of the closure.
“This closure is necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety while the County’s contractor repairs two
sections of the roadway and drainage system, as well as the approach to the Cosumnes Mine Road Bridge, that
were damaged during the storms in January and February of 2017,” said Department of Transportation director,
Rafael Martinez.
The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use this roadway and we
apologize for any inconvenience as a result of this closure.
For questions regarding this repair and construction, please contact the County’s Transportation main line at
