(PLACERVILLE, CA) -- El Dorado County's Department of Transportation will be constructing a new Class I bike path along the El Dorado Trail from Missouri Flat Road to Oriental Street in the Diamond Springs and El Dorado area beginning June 3rd and continuing until November 2019. The project is two miles long, adjacent to the existing railroad tracks. Construction will include drainage system improvements, a paved 8-foot wide multi-use path, and two pedestrian signals at Blanchard Road and Forni Road. During this time, the natural trail from Missouri Flat Road to Oriental Street will be closed.
Motorists are advised to slow down through the work zones at Missouri Flat Road and Oriental Street, as well as at the Blanchard Road and Forni Road railroad crossings, and expect occasional delays during construction.
