EL DORADO COUNTY SUPERVISORS APPOINT NEW DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES


(PLACERVILLE, CA) – The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors today appointed Tonya Digiorno as Director of Information Technologies. She will be responsible for the administration and oversight of all functions and activities of the County's Information Technology efforts.

 

Digiorno comes to the position with more than 20 years of experience in the field, most recently having served as the Chief Information Officer for the California Department of Technology. Her technology experience ranges from leading a variety of technical teams and Project Management offices at the California Department of Justice, Department of Health Care Services and as a consultant to the State providing oversight for high risk projects.

 

"El Dorado County is fortunate to have someone of Tonya's caliber and experience with project management, supervision, policy, and leadership to help strategically guide the County through the ever-changing challenges of information technologies," said Chief Administrative Officer, Don Ashton.

 

For the last two years, Digiorno has provided statewide leadership to more than 100 staff, including developers, data analysts, infrastructure support, GIS professionals, project managers and business analysts guiding technology initiatives, policy implementation, as well as coordinating Internal IT services within the California Department of Technology.

 

"I'm grateful to the Board of Supervisors for this opportunity to serve the residents of El Dorado County," Digiorno said. "I'm excited to bring my experience in developing and implementing policies and technologies, strategic and tactical planning, and project management to move El Dorado County to the next level in IT for all its customers," she added.

 

Her appointment is effective December 7th, 2019 at a salary of $158,537.60.

 

Digiorno lives in Folsom with her husband of 20 years and their three children.
