Patrol Services
The Patrol Services Division is made up of 150 exceptional deputies responsible for law enforcement for the county’s 1800 square miles of territory. The rural and geographical nature of the county offers a variety of outdoor activities and law enforcement challenges. Specialized units with the patrol services division were created to meet the challenges in patrolling the county.

The Boat Patrol watches the waterways on boats and rafts to enforce the county’s ordinances and handle rafting, swimming, or boating related accidents.

Citizen’s Academy is a free 6-weeks class led by deputies. Here, the community learns more about the inner workings of the Sheriff’s Office.
The Dive Team conducts surface and underwater searches on rivers, lakes, and ponds.
The Explorer Scouts volunteer to help on community events while studying to become a law enforcement officer.
The K-9 Unit of the Sheriff’s Office has developed a good reputation and excelled in assisting deputies since its inception in 1981.
The Sheriff's Reserves are a trained work force supporting the Sheriff's Office in all areas of law enforcement.
The STAR Program is created to support the Sheriff’s Office and the County community. It is made up of senior volunteers who handles everything from fingerprinting booths to public awareness programs.
The S.W.A.T. Team is made up of 15 men and women trained specifically for emergency and tactical response.
