The Citizen Advocates for the Protection of Elders (CAPE) program was created to help identify and prevent elder abuse. As the senior population has grown in El Dorado County, so have the reported incidences of elder abuse and neglect.

CAPE is a core of trained and caring community volunteers who have made a commitment to the protection and treatment of vulnerable elders in our community.

CAPE provides information about community resources and assists with referrals to appropriate agencies for protection and or assistance.
