CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES

The purpose of the Child Protective Services Program is to identify, treat, and reduce child abuse and neglect, as well as to ensure that reasonable efforts are made to protect and maintain children in their homes.

Child Protective Services Staff:

• Investigates reports of abuse, neglect, or harm;
• Provides referrals to community resources;
• Provides services to children and families in their own homes;
• Provides out of home placement and permanency planning when necessary; and
• Provides services to help youth in foster care make the transition to adulthood.
